Football Manager unveils the development update for FM 25, promising significant changes and new features. Emphasizing a true sequel with groundbreaking updates, the upcoming season introduces a revamped UI, a innovative tiles and cards system, and more exciting enhancements, detailed in this article.

What Won't Be Included in Football Manager 25

The development of Football Manager 25 has prompted difficult decisions regarding its features and gameplay modes, reflecting a strategic shift as highlighted by Miles Jacobson, head of Sports Interactive, in their latest blog post.
One notable omission is Touchline Shouts, which won't debut in FM25 and may not for the foreseeable future due to not meeting developer expectations. Additionally, the removal of the Social Media screen and Data Chalkboard aims to enhance User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX), details of which I'll delve into in the features section. While some social media data will still be accessible elsewhere, the introduction of the Data Hub has reduced reliance on the chalkboard.

Changes in Football Manager 25 Features

While Create-A-Club remains a fan favorite, it won't be available upon release of FM 25. However, plans are in place to reintroduce it in FM 26 with significant enhancements. Versus Mode is also undergoing evaluation and may return in a different form or be replaced by a new mode. Similarly, Challenge Mode will not be featured in FM 25 but is slated to return in either FM 26 or FM 27, promising an enhanced immersive experience upon its comeback.

Additionally, Fantasy Draft mode will not be immediately available in FM 25's launch but is expected to return later in the game cycle, aligning with the Main Data Update. Looking ahead, as customary in the Football Manager series, new features will be rolled out during the game cycle to continuously enhance and update the gameplay experience.

Football Manager 25 Introduces Abundance of New Features

Football Manager 25 represents a substantial technological leap with its transition to the Unity engine, offering improved graphical fidelity and streamlined development workflows. This foundational shift sets the stage for the game's evolution over the next two decades, beginning with a redesigned UI and UX.

Enhancing player interactions and exploration opportunities, the new UI incorporates a Tile and Card system. Tiles provide concise information summaries that expand into detailed cards, reducing screen clutter and enhancing navigation. This design ensures that every detail is easily accessible and viewable with remarkable clarity.

A significant update entails replacing the conventional Inbox with Portal, offering enhanced tools surpassing those found in the Agenda and Messages sections, providing deeper insights into News and Matches. Additionally, the game will adopt a unified "one game, one ecosystem" approach, incorporating both men's and women's football, supported by licenses secured for various women's leagues.
As Football Manager 25 continues its development, expect more gameplay elements and features to be revealed with each update. The developers plan to open registrations and announce the release date in early September 2024, although it's unclear if this applies to the mobile version as well. Stay tuned for further updates!
