I've been complaining for years that they need to make the albums sorted alphabetically when you click "add to album" from any screen. It is sorted in a random order with no control and all they've changed is adding a "most recent" which shows the top 3. On desktop they are sorted correctly but on their main mobile platform they are not.2025-02-12 13:31:00

The UI is horrible. Is difficult to distinguish between what is in the cloud and what is only on my phone. Yes, there is a little icon in saved photos - but when you have lots of photos, it becomes difficult to organize it efficiently in the cloud. Yet, the app doesn't allow us to use it only as a cloud service instead of a gallery app.2025-02-12 07:04:20

This app is getting worse. It keeps trying to get me to turn backup on, and when I refuse it selects about 200 photos and asks me to backup these. The only way out if this is to close the app at that point. Its a real nuisance when I just want to open the app to show someone my pics. Instead I have to fiddle around stopping it uploading 200 photos, which one started can only be paused (by pausing the app) and is impossible to stop. Come on Google. My storage was full. Tapped on the free up space button, and it deleted photos and videos off my phones gallery without asking for permission or anything to "back them up" on google photos. Would have been nice to know that was going to happen. I had important photos in my camera roll in curtain albums that were deleted in the "backing up" process. I'm very annoyed that it had no warning that this would happen. I don't know how to get they back. Someone, please help.2025-02-11 14:43:00

I'd give 0 stars if I could. This app has been an absolute nightmare to use. I spent countless hours organizing the folders on my phone so that they'd be in alphabetical order. When they uploaded to Google Photos, the pictures uploaded in their proper folders, but now the folders aren't in alphabetical order - they're in order of most recently used and there's no way to change that. I seriously wish I'd known that earlier. I would've never wasted my $ buying storage space with Google Photos.2025-02-11 06:30:57

I dislike how the app keeps asking if I want to backup all my photos from my device. (Update 5/27/2024) Now, the app has a slider which you have to intentionally deselect each time... Also, when I backup photos taken on my phone, Photos uploads the RAW files w/ no option to stop uploading RAW files. It's pretty much impossible to remove backed up RAW photos w/o going through convoluted steps. It also appears that my feedback which I've given was for naught, since the UI is now more deceptive.2025-02-11 01:14:47
